Wilderness - Kaleidoscope Woods

Art, Illustration Friday, Studio Time 37 Comments »

After being in the Grand Canyons over the holidays and seeing the majesty of color in those wild canyons, I couldn’t help but use an image of a painting, I made some time ago  of the wilderness (”Kaleidoscope Woods”).

This is how I see the wilderness, a riot of color!

Ahhh…I can’t imagine life without color or the wilderness, it provides balance.

I’m ready for the adventure of “wilderness” this year, I think that translates into adventure. Let’s live life to the fullest!

The Blur of Color…

Art, Illustration Friday, Work 32 Comments »

My use of color is an attempt to create my own physical harmony, hopefully, as a way to tap into the resources of mental, emotional and even spiritual energies that sustain me, which enable me to stay sane.

Hmmm…so much for poetic musing! The bottom line is if I don’t color in and outside the lines, I go crazy!

So Viola! the blur of my lines.

(Process: Oil/Acrylic, on Canvas, filtered and blurred in Photoshop)

Modify-IF

Art, Illustration Friday 40 Comments »

I’ve modified the color for the line drawing of last week’s prompt, “Idle.”

I’m happy that it only took me a couple of days! With my schedule, I need to modify, to enjoy the worthwhile things in life!

Please let me know which you like better, the line drawing (posted below this post) or mixed media color (this post)!

Happy Week!

Flawed - IF

Art, Illustration Friday, Work 42 Comments »

“In our flawed existence, we seek perfection and it is in our midst.’

As an artist, I often try to capture what I have in my mind, but it is never as beautiful, as it is in my mind’s eye. That’s why I continue struggling as an artist, because one day, I will get it right.

Besides, I find beauty in all forms, any and everywhere!

Peace to all and warmth to all the folks in frigid cold places.
