There is not one aspect of life that does not require a journey. It may be the physical act of a journey, a mental journey, an emotional journey or a spiritual journey. It is a fact, that a learning process can be had by any and all journeys, you just need to be open to the lesson(s).
Make all your journeys count, because in life, destination always looms big before you.
May all your journeys lead you to your ultimate self actualization.
Peace to you and yours.

Masks are often used as a “talisman” in many cultures around the world. They always fascinate me, with their wealth of symbolism and ancestral markings.
At the time, I created this piece, I was trying to find a way, to merge, the body of ancestry that made me…“me”.
How does one incorporate, Portuguese, Carib, Asian and African, into one equally identifying symbol?
Living in a country, where one is identified by race, I wanted as a child, to have something, maybe a “talisman“, that I could carry. A symbol that would identify all those people that physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally made me.
Maybe, then people would see it and recognize all those parts of me, that I hold near and dear to my heart, and try not to put one identifying label on me.
I did found that “talisman“, and I did found my true self in that journey. Art is my secret and shared talisman.
Art is where I can combine all of me and show the world, the various aspects of me in a visual and tactile way. We all have some sort of “talisman“, I think what counts is how we use them and what we use them for.
Peace, now and forever for all.
See you next week…:)

Lately, I’ve been working out some dream issues, which to me represent the most intricate designs of the mind.
Most days, I’m not sure what my dreams mean…hmmm…maybe they mean, I’m just anxious for Spring, or bracing myself for more of Winter, or missing that hour I lost for daylight saving time or …there’s always the off chance it could be just indigestion! :) lol!
I’m just spending time trying to figure out the intricacies of what they mean…how about you? Dream any good intricate ones lately? I’ll meet you in the dream world. Peace

Celebrate to me always involves music. I mean really for me, a celebration without a song, a lyric, music, a ditty…well it just is not a celebration! So for this week, in honor of love, take the one you love, put on a tune that you can hum together, dance together or look at one another to and celebrate, because love is always a cause for celebration.
So here I’ve provided the instruments, the singer and a microphone, now all you have to do is improvise…celebrate!
Love, Happiness and Peace to you all!

When I was a kid in NYC, there was an individual who used to roam the streets in my neighborhood. To this day, I don’t know if they were a man or a woman, (nor do I care) but we called, this person, “Birdy.”
Birdy walked around in a big overcoat, with his/her arms tucked inside, so Birdy appeared armless! Yet the moment, there was any group of little kids around, the pretend magician, would say, “Abracadabra” and out of that opened cape-like coat would appear two hands…and then… all of a sudden … little birds came flying out of their coat!
It was the most wonderful thing to my nine-year-old eyes!
I often wondered what happened to that beautiful individual pretending to have a home, living on the streets, pretending to be a magician, pretending to be a man or woman, but always giving real joy to all the children in my old neighborhood.
Days, when I think about Birdy, I’d like pretend that Birdy is alive and living a wonderful magical real life, because those memories I have of Birdy are pure magic!
Pretend to be or not to be, but make it magical to the people in your life this week!
Peace to you all.
