Finishing up last minute rushes, business obligations and On-Line Classes.
I haven’t forgotten my blog readers! I’m just in a contemplative mood…thinking about my intention for the new year, setting goals, looking over the year…the great losses and the abundance that kept me going…
Take some time to separate yourself and sink into the peace that’s yours by going inward.
In peace to you and yours.

This image, right now sums up my feelings and I do not have the strength to create anything else, that fits these feelings.
I listen everyday, as my Mum’s voice gets weaker and weaker and all that is happening to me is my heart swells and I wear it on my face.
I hold on to all the sweet and sour that is her and pray that it lasts me a life time.
I pray that everyone holds what is dear in life earnestly and closely, so that they may be able to let it go when it is time.
In peace to you and yours.

I am in the middle of a summer night’s dream, of the mind, body and spirit. I am trying to wrap my mind around the concept of the spirit leaving the body.
It’s not something that I can articulate well at this point, and maybe I never will.
(“Mind Body & Spirit” – Mixed Media/Paper)
My sweet little sister, Renee is in hospice, that is really all I can say now. My dreams are filled with surrender, an outpouring of love and a deep hole of sadness. So on these midsummer nights, I try to understand, believe and sustain faith. May the God you believe in, give you the peace of mind, that can surround the body, so that the soul may be released. Blessings to you and yours.

When it’s winter, we wish for spring, when spring comes, we long for hot beach weather…we are never satisfied! (Me included)
Each year we try to predict, what the weather will do, how soon a season will come, when one will end…of late, we been way off course.
(“Woods” – Oil/Canvas)
Why?
Hmm…I think nature is doing its own thing, keeping us guessing. It’s only so much dumping on, nature can take, before it lets us know who’s boss and then we’re all swept up in its force! So for now, I’m just living in the present, enjoying one moment at a time, each rain drop, each sliver of sun light, just being still…
Stop getting swept away in the madness of prediction, stop and breathe in this wonderful present moment.
In peace to you and yours.

Quietly asleep…under moonlight…
I love waking up, when the ribbons of light from the sun, are just beginning to streak across the sky. Nature is wide awake with bird songs and crickets, and many humans are still asleep.
Nature has the most beautiful way of putting us to sleep and waking us up. The beginning and the end…the alpha and the omega…
Peace to you and yours.

There is not one aspect of life that does not require a journey. It may be the physical act of a journey, a mental journey, an emotional journey or a spiritual journey. It is a fact, that a learning process can be had by any and all journeys, you just need to be open to the lesson(s).
Make all your journeys count, because in life, destination always looms big before you.
May all your journeys lead you to your ultimate self actualization.
Peace to you and yours.

The word this week for illustration Friday is stir. I am glad that they had a word to prompt me, because I was at a lost for words due to the devastation in Japan.
My instinct is to help, so in addition to my donation to the Red Cross, to help the survivors in Japan, I am donating proceeds from the sales of this image from Fine Art America to the Red Cross.
Please go to:
http://fineartamerica.com/featured/moon-howl-indigene-theresa-gaskin.html to purchase a print or card.
Devastation stirs up great emotions and sometimes all you can do is, howl. Thank you in advance for your help and support in advance.
Offered in Peace and Prayers.

Winter is a time of quiet, hibernation, renewal, cold, waiting, rebirth and the mini death of nature’s plant life. Is is also some of the darkest days. Living on the northern east coast, means a ritual of heavy sweaters, overcoats, hats, scarves and gloves. But, it can be a time of great reflection, curling up in a natty sweater, lighting some candles, listening to music, pondering something as small as “getting a snack” or more significant like “what can you do to make your life more meaningful?”
With ice or snow covering everything, I tend to look up and notice the sky and stars. It’s wonderful to see the night light of the stars, so sometimes, I run out in the cold, with a thick sweater on and look up and I see the beautiful night sky, like a beautiful woman with the jewels of star light around her, blessing us with bits of colored light.
When it’s cold and depressing, look to the night and stars and realize that you are a part of something wonderful and unique in this time and space. No matter what, there is no one like you in the world, no one.
I’m sitting around with loved ones, wishing you peace.

While doing some cleaning and dusting, I came across a bag of pretty autumn leaves. I love the colors of autumn. I remember taking these leaves from a beautiful tree. So of course I stopped cleaning and looked for the photos of the tree it came from.
I’m one of those people that look at trees and always see people or some sort of magical creature, so I usually stop and snap a photo, since it’s usually on the road and I don’t get a chance to sketch and explore it until I get home. I find trees fascinating. Here’s a reference photo:

Well, to make a long story short, I never finished the dusting (the cleaning is ongoing)! My creative flow took over and I spent the next few days working on this image. Here she is, a dryad, a tree spirit, I’ve named her “Autumn Leaves”. Autumn is a part of the “Goddess Series”.

January is an ideal month for getting your office together, since it is after the holidays and everyone seems to be in recovery mode. It also helps that it is (7) seven degrees Fahrenheit outdoors! My creative flow is up 1000%.
Perfect hot chocolate weather, that’s where I am, indoors, warm, snugly, creating and happy!
Define your happiness today. Always in peace.

 Collector's Picture1
As an artist, you create, enjoying the process and wonder at the end result (at least, I do)! When your art work finds a home, you miss it, but you know it has gone to a place where some else wants your creation to rest.
I received this picture (taken with camera phone) from a collector in Indiana, showing me where “our girl” lives.
I love the unique way she has formed a mediation alter out of it. Another wonderful idea for my goddess art. A way to salute your womanhood!
Thanks Lucy, you’re a doll to send this! :) May you continue to get the joy and peace you deserve.
Peace to all.
