When it’s winter, we wish for spring, when spring comes, we long for hot beach weather…we are never satisfied! (Me included)
Each year we try to predict, what the weather will do, how soon a season will come, when one will end…of late, we been way off course.
(“Woods” – Oil/Canvas)
Why?
Hmm…I think nature is doing its own thing, keeping us guessing. It’s only so much dumping on, nature can take, before it lets us know who’s boss and then we’re all swept up in its force! So for now, I’m just living in the present, enjoying one moment at a time, each rain drop, each sliver of sun light, just being still…
Stop getting swept away in the madness of prediction, stop and breathe in this wonderful present moment.
In peace to you and yours.

Daily, I toil in a part of nature’s paradise. I look out of my office window and see three enormous redwood trees. They form a semi-circle around a little rickety bench.
There are days, when I sit on that bench, near these luscious beauties, which I have named “the three sisters”. Wondering often, if they could speak, what infinite wisdom would they share.
They are infinitely magical to me, changing the lines of their bark to peer at me in all kinds of shapes, color and forms. But, no matter the transformation of these “sisters”, they always appear as women, whispering to me, daring me to discover their infinite wisdom.
But, I cannot… all I can do in my mere attempts, is to sit in their beauty and try to capture a fleeting glance, a colorful whisper, a dancing tone…knowing their infinite magic will outlive mine.
This week, in stillness, I try to capture the infinity of nature and peace…let’s all meet there in that infinity. Peace

There are so many things to worry about nowadays.
I miss the days of just worrying about getting my allowance because I didn’t clean my room, worrying about whether Kevin Thomas liked me as much as I liked him or worrying whether my extremely curly hair would frizz up in the humidity! The days of being a teenager.
My worries are much greater today and they seemed to be centered around others. My children, my parents, my extended family, my friends, my environment…who’s going to be the next President of the USA! Yeah, in our days in time we do need to worry about who’s going to be President. The worries of someone opening the door to being fifty years old.
But this morning I looked out on my deck and looked at the beautiful tree that’s been haunting my thoughts over the last week and my worrying over completing her portrait, which I just finished.
I know and adore that tree, it’s a female entity, since she nourishes and shelters most of the wild life in my back yard. She has a giant hole in the middle of her trunk where I imagine her heart is and it’s open, bearing her soul to all.
Today, I worry about the environment and hope that the generations to come take care of her. Please do something for her today…don’t litter, bask in her glory, recycle, be green always…
Have a happy, glorious and safe green weekend and week!

So many things came to mind when I thought about the word, “seed.” I thought about gardens, plants, trees, etc. I then settled on this idea.
What does it take to grow an artist? Well…we start off with a little tiny SEED and then we watch it grow.
In my cartoon imagination it would start with a seed that would grow into palettes of color, then into a child who would crawl off and be discovered! Happy Week to all the growing artists!
