The people who buy my art, delight me in so many ways! I have wonderful conversations with them, we share heartfelt stories and we are both passionate about my art. Here are a few of those amazing individuals who bought my art and sent me pictures, to show me their delight and the places where "our" art hangs. My painting is the one in the center. This collector has to hang his paintings high, since he has an adventurous cat! :) The painting, "Elephant Dreams" was a commissioned mixed-media piece, that included antique buttons, gold leaf and sculptured mini faces. You can read about it on my blog post ... Continue Reading »

Spring Time Meditation
On March 30, I was a guest blogger for Artistceller and had the wonderful opportunity to share my art journal pages that I created from using Artistcellar stencils. Artistcellar sent me two fabulous stencils to play with from their Sacred Geometry Series - "Square Rose and Flower of Life". I was excited about experimenting with these stencils and sharing it here. The 6”x 6” size makes it great to use with a lot of different projects. I needed a little “Spring” lift, after all the winter temperatures in my region, along with very gray days. I prepped two of my large format journal (22”x18”) with Liquitex Gesso. Since most of my work ... Continue Reading »
Encouraging Words…
A couple of days before Spring, I received a lovely package in the mail from my friend, Colleen Attara. Colleen is this amazing artist, who uses recycle and reclaimed materials and turn them into works of art. Colleen also creates words, out of a plastic recycled materials and I asked her to create a couple of words for me. Words have a way of creating a path, a life and action. After receiving my love package, and on the first day of spring, we got snow! So on a very cold day, when spring was nowhere in sight, I was outside in the snow, hoping that this "word" would send a message out to the universe, so the warm air would "spring" ... Spring Equinox Commitment
At the beginning of the New Year, I decided that my word for this year would be "commitment". It's not that, I haven't committed to things in the past, I have! But, this year, I wanted to put a laser focus to my commitments and choose them wisely. I'm like many people; in the past, I've over-committed and drove myself and others crazy, trying to fulfilled them. This year, I want to change how I commit to people, causes, etc. I wanted to be present in them, and give them my full attention and integrity. So hear we are, three months into the new year and I want to keep moving forward. Keeping a gratitude journal, keeps me ever grateful ... Continue Reading »

Inspiration Journey…
I think many artists have their favorite artist(s) from the past or present, that they gravitate toward, or style they love. For me, there are two such artists and one of them is Georgia O'Keeffe. It isn't her subject matter that captivates me, but who I gather she was from her writings and lifestyle choices. I visited the O'Keeffe house, walked in her studio, saw her kitchen, glanced at her living room and took a rock from the path that leads up to her house. I visited Ghost Ranch. I swam in Abiquiu Lake and looked at the mountain, O'Keeffe called hers. It is her spirit of commitment that resonates with me and it is one of the many ... Continue Reading »
