Say what you want about the ills of social media...there are days when I'm crazy about it! No, it can't replace real "face" time with family and friends, but it can help you to meet some incredible people and connect. This week I want to share with you the wonderful blog of Teresa Cash (such a cool name, she's also known as "A Smile Maker"). Teresa is set up over at I'm a Late Bloomer. She showcases talented individuals who found their passion, in the latter bloom of their lives. So go on over to her website and enjoy the wisdom and stories of incredible bloomage! What’s Happening in Studio Nookery…
I'm working in my new journal, each page is 15" x 11.5", so a total spread (2 pages) will be 15" x 23". That's big page art journaling for me! I started this morning and it is late afternoon and I still haven't gotten the ink off my fingertips, this should make for interesting conversation when I go out in public... Last year, so many wonderful and kind people admired my art journal pages on Facebook, that I'm now offering my art journal pages as magnets at my Etsy Shop. These little business card size magnets inspire creativity and come three to a package for $9.99! I randomly select from fifteen art journal images for your art journal ... Continue Reading »

Clearing the Way…
I like to imagine my clutter is comparative to how my life is, the less clutter I have, the more room I have to be open to possibilities. So, while my studio is not in need of cleaning, I am all about de-cluttering...all about creating space for the things I want in my life: new projects, new art, and loads of creativity. In the last couple of months, the de-cluttering bug has hit my studio. I decided to get rid of stuff, in which I stored paint and all manner of odds and ends, that were falling apart and replace them with sturdier pieces. Granted, there's only so much I can do in my studio, because of space limitations. Reorganization of ... Continue Reading »
Elephant Dreams
This is where I'm at with "Elephant Dreams", a mixed media piece on 30" x 30" canvas that I've been working on. It is a commission, it is sitting on my easel now, in a state of being worked on, so I'm good with sharing this part of it. This piece was a collaboration of what the client wanted and part intuitive. This collector has a love of elephants and loves my mixed media art. Art continues to flow as I work on a couple of commissions. The regular flux of being studio grounded tells me that I'm being active and that feels good. I'm learning to see rejections as both a sign that I'm trying and that it's just not a great fit at the moment ... Continue Reading »
Monday Laser Focus…
This month is a time of some big transitions and rescheduling my time, so that I can get the most out of my studio days. Yesterday, I was feeling on edge, because of some new changes in my my work life. More to the point, I was super anxious. Yes, I'm excited about becoming more laser sharp on my time management and reorganization. But, I'm also wildly nervous, which sometimes leads to a vicious cycle of being stuck in place and getting no where! However, looking through my art journal, and concentrating on my intentions for this month, I am sharpening my focus. I know that I don’t want to just flounder around all day, procrastinating, so I ... Continue Reading »
Gratitude for Imagination
My imagination has been on overdrive this week! Creating my own pages for my Book of Days Art Journal and creating pages for the "Gratitude Art Journal" Give-Away. I wanted the pages for the give-away to be different from my everyday art journaling efforts, but still have plenty of the bold colors, I'm known for. Below are some of the pages, I've completed for the Gratitude Art Journal. Next, I will be adding text to the pages, but also leaving room for the winner to add whatever they'd like to the journal as well, once they receive it. This is going to be a sweet, deliciously colorful journal, if I must say so myself! :) So in order to get ... Continue Reading »
