My creative blocks allowed for small little bits of time where I felt creative, this is what came out of those bouts of creativity during my blocked time! This piece captures the feel of a cafe owner in Paris at the turn of the 1900s, with the color vibrancy of a hot jazz summer! For anyone who has experience the loss of inspiration or creativity, remember to show up and creativity will crack through!
A “creative block” is the inability to access one’s flowing stream of inspiration and creativity. What was once an overflowing well of ideas may now feel like an endless drought. It can last for days, months, or even years at a time. I call this piece “Madam Paree” it was the third piece I created for this series during a creative blocked phase.
This is a mixed media piece, on a 4″ x 4″ canvas. The canvas is layers with handmade and vintage papers, acrylic paint, metal brad, faux jewel, and vintage wood scrabble piece; (piece is varnished for protection, signed and dated on the back.)
