A “creative block” is the inability to access one’s flowing stream of inspiration and creativity. What was once an overflowing well of ideas may now feel like an endless drought. It can last for days, months, or even years at a time. I call this piece “Magnus” for it was the first piece I created during a small piece of inspiration that came to me during my blocked phase.
My creative blocks allowed for small little bits of time where I felt creative. This is what came out of those bouts of creativity during my blocked time! For anyone who has experience the loss of inspiration or creativity, remember to show up and creativity will crack through!
This is a mixed media piece, on a 4″ x 4″ canvas. The canvas is layers with handmade and vintage papers, acrylic paint, distress ink, Vintage stamps, metal tree and patina. (piece is varnished for protection, signed and dated on the back.)
