This painting was created as part of my Winter Series. With snow comes, footprints, shoveling and the removal of snow. Making odd figures and juxtaposition of snow…we’ve all seen images in the snow…I imagine this winter beauty of snow.
Winter is often seen as a barren and desolate time. For many it brings darkness and melancholy. I wanted to create this series to bring light into this time, for me and others. Creating this series was my way of meditation on winter. It also was a way for me to experiment with encaustics, which really added to this series. I hope piece brings as much light to you as it has to me.
