This was created as an ode to the beauty in aging. The winter sage is a homage to winter and her guide is the polar bear, another being associated with the cold. She is a symbol of winter in the sense that she is withered and symbolizes aging/death/dying. But I created her as a being of beauty to me; how winter is needed to call forth Spring; and how Winter has a beauty all of its own, such as aging.
This is an old piece, created some years ago.
This piece can be hung as is or framed; or leaned up against the wall as is. The back of painting is painted and signed.
