This painting was created as part of my Winter Series. Mush like the old tales of the fates coming together to weave your life, I imagine that there are winter sages that come together to bear witness to many a cold tale.
Winter is often seen as a barren and desolate time. For many it brings darkness and melancholy. I wanted to create this series to bring light into this time, for me and others. Creating this series was my way of meditation on winter. It also was a way for me to experiment with encaustics, which really added to this series. I hope piece brings as much light to you as it has to me.
