Happy New Year! It's been a year since, I decided to join Illustration Friday ("IF"). I know that there are folks that have been a part of IF for years, and I congratulate them, too! What's really a big deal and funny to me about the whole blog thing, is "I absolutely do not like writing!" So, it has been a major feat for me to continue this weekly. Writing to me, is like speaking in public for some folk...incredibly scary! But, last year, (a year-to-date) I decided to take on one fear at a time, and this was one. Oh, boy, do I have a lot of fears, and after turning 50 years old on January 1. I figured, it will be a lifelong journey to ... Continue Reading »

Rambunctious – IF (Illustration Friday)
This little rambunctious darling, decided, that her cat was in need of "bootifying" (beautifying). The precious part to me was how she went on and on about how her baby (the cat) "just gets into everything." All children should be "rambunctious" it's the only time in life when we're "allowed." Now who do you think is the really rambunctious one? This has been a stressful and very busy week for me, so I had to go to an image that was already completed some time ago. Actually, right now I'm finding the adults in my life rather rambunctious and I really don't mean that in a positive light! It's so much more wonderful when it's a rambunctious ... Continue Reading »
Similar – IF
This week for Illustration Friday, I did not have time to come up with a new illustration, so I had to borrow an image I've already created. What can I say? Life is hectic! There are so many ways that people are similar, but unfortunately we have created a history of focusing on negative differences. Maybe...hopefully, in the USA, we are now focusing on the similarities and celebrating all our differences. Oh I am so wishing for this New Year in the United States of America! Peace. ... Balloons – IF
What is it about balloons, no matter what size, it screams, "fun?" I would love to see a sky filled with various multicolored balloons, with people waving to each other. Here's to releasing some fun in your life! ... Continue Reading »
Opinion – Illustration Friday
I have never met a woman who didn't have an opinion, but I have met women who are not allowed to share their opinions, or who are thought not to have one. The right to have an opinion and to express it freely is a human right. Peace to you all on this designated weekend of thanksgiving, and make everyday a time of thanksgiving. ... Continue Reading »
Packed – IF
Bear with me...this is a long one...After arguing with my daughter this morning about the benefits of cleaning her room (i.e., "you can stop asking me where everything is"); she stomped to her room!Later, I looked in her room and became misty-eyed.Lo and behold, she cleaned her room...but inside of boxes and on the outside of boxes were all the things I love! Her "bear-bear", her dolls and numerous other toy treasures!Packed up memories...For any parent, well some of us at least, seeing your little one grow up and storm into adolescence is challenging at best! I captured this moment in my journal along with this sketch; (I don't generally go ... Continue Reading »
Clique – IF
A couple of things ran through my mind when I saw this week's prompt, "Clique".The first thing was the handouts I used to get in 1st grade, with the title, "Which Doesn't Belong?"It was always so obvious back then! The second thing I thought about was high school and all the different "cliques" that alienated all of us from each other; because of some lame excuse that no one remembers after they left of high school or if you did remember, it's not important any longer! But, finally, for inspiration, I decided to go with the old nest in my backyard and improvise. "Cliques" abound, even in nature...so with that I'll let the image speak for ... Continue Reading »
